Graphene Foam is made by joining very thin graphene sheets into a three-dimensional network. The sheets form an open, sponge-like structure with many tiny air-filled spaces. Due to this structure, the material is extremely light yet retains graphene’s natural strength and ability to conduct electricity. Graphene foam has an open-cell structure, with the interior composed of interconnected pores rather than solid blocks. This creates a very large surface area and lets heat and electricity pass through with little resistance. These features make it useful in many fields. In batteries and supercapacitors, it works well as an electrode because it conducts electricity quickly and does not break down easily. Its open, porous structure also supports sensors, catalytic reactions, and filtration systems, such as water purification and the removal of harmful pollutants. Creating graphene foam with both high strength and high flexibility is still a technical challenge, but advances in fabrication methods are steadily improving its performance.
